Nové verze VMware Workstation, Server a Player

V první polovině měsíce března byly uvedeny nové verze nástrojů pro virtualizaci od společnosti VMware. VMware Server a VMware Player lze používat zdarma, pouze po registraci na stránkách výrobce. VMware Workstation je placený produkt.

Remote Server Administration Tools (RSAT) uvolněny pro Windows Vista SP1

Včera byla uvolněna finální verze Microsoft Remote Server Administration Tools (RSAT), která umožní administrátorům vzdáleně spravovat jednotlivé role a celkově konfigurovat Windows Server 2008 z počítače s běžícími Windows Vista SP1. Samozřejmá je podpora vzdálené správyCore verze Windows Server 2008.

Po instalaci RSAT na Windows Vista SP1 bude nainstalována Group Policy Management Console, která je odstraněna při instalaci SP1. V RSAT je však rozšířena o podporu funkcí Windows Serveru 2008 jako jsou například Group Policy preference.

Po uvolnění Windows Vista Service Pack 1 pomocí služby Microsoft Update a Download Center toto úterý, byly aktualizovány nástroje pro Windows deployment v prostředí Microsoft OS.

Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) 2008, který byl dnes uvolněn obsahuje také podporu pro Windows Server 2008 a Windows Vista SP1.

Nové vlastnosti MDT 2008:

  • Plná podpora pro Windows Server 2008
  • Přidané „Actions“ obsahující Configure DHCP, Authorize DHCP a Configure DNS a ADDS
  • Nové skripty, které automatizují instalaci „Mass Storage Drivers“ pro Windows XP a Windows 2003 systémy
  • Možnost použití WSUS server pro Windows Update skripty
  • Zvýšený výkon PXE filtru pro System Center Configuration Manager
  • Aktualizovaná dokumentace obsahující nové „Quick Start Guide“ pro System Center Configuration Manager a příručku pro implementaci management packů pro System Center Operations Manager

Také byla uvolněna nová verze Business Desktop Deployment (BDD) 2007 – update 2. Zde byla také přidána podpora pro Windows Vista SP1.

Společnost Hewlett-Packard uvolnila aktualizované management packy pro své serverové technologie. Pro stažení je nutná registrace na stránkách výrobce. Také společnost Microsoft uvolnila jeden nový a dva aktualizované management packy pro OpsMgr 2007.

Na začátku března byl oznámen termín pro konání prvního kongresu, zaměřeného na virtualizační technologie, bez závislosti na platformu jediného výrobce. Virtualization Congress by se měl konat 14-16 října 2008 v Londýně, UK. Pořádá ho webový portál virtualization.info, který přináší aktuální zpravodajství a analýzy ze světa virtualizace.

Na kongresu budou prezentovány technologie od několika předních společností v oboru.

Dnes byl uvolněn pro veřejnost System Center Essentials 2007 Service Pack 1. Po OpsMgr 2007 SP1 je zde další aktualizovaný produkt řady System Center. Nyní by Microsoft mohl pokračovat vydáním nové verze System Center Configuration Manageru 2007 SP1. Ale to si ještě počkáme.

Základní popis novinek:

  • Podpora pro správu počítačů ve WORKGROUP
  • Podpora pro monitoring síťových zařízení SNMPv1
  • Podpora použití vícenásobných auto-approval pravidel pro správu updatů
  • Podpora použití vzdálené instance SQL Server 2005 instance na počítači s jinou architekturou (x86 nebo x64) než která je na počítači s běžícím Essentials 2007 management serverem
  • Podpora pro běh Essentials 2007 management serveru, konzole a agenta na počítačích s

Jak na… – přepnutí většího množství počítačů do maintenance modu pomocí skriptu

Boris Yanushpolsky, člen produktového týmu Ops Mgr 2007 uveřejnil návod, jak umístit větší množství počítačů do maintenance modu, pouze na základě členství ve skupině (např.: health service), bez spouštění Powershell rozhraní.

Poskytl script samotný i vzorový příkaz pro spuštění. Lze spustit přímo nebo např.: pomocí Task Scheduleru.

Starting MM - powershell "c:\GroupMM.ps1" -groupName:’All Computers’ -hours:10 -rmsServerName:’localhost’ -startMM:$true

Ending MM – powershell "c:\GroupMM.ps1" -groupName:’All Computers’ -hours:10 -rmsServerName:’localhost’ -startMM:$false

Microsoft Management Summit 2008

Tak se mi včera podařilo zaregistrovat se na největší management konferenci se zaměřením na technologie společnosti Microsoft. Letos proběhne již jedenáctý ročník této konference. Každoročně se jí účastní stovky odborníků na management a spřízněné technologie z celého světa. 

Konference proběhne na konci dubna a bude trvat celý týden. Seznam prezentací a Hands on Labů je opravdu dlouhý a budu muset dlouho vybírat, kterých se zúčastním. Prezentovány i k otestování budou nejnovější technologie společnosti Microsoft i dalších společností. Na konferenci bude mnoho předních odborníků z celého světa, s kterými by mělo být možné si promluvit, především o management technolgiích.

Tento týden byl uvolněn Windows Server 2003 Cluster management pack pro System Center Operations Manager 2007. Konečně se objevil management pack, který by měl rozšířil možnosti dohledu Windows Clusteru.

Primárně je určen pro OpsMgr 2007 Service Pack 1, avšak po aplikaci QFE hotfixu z Premier Support Services je možné instalovat tento management pack do verze OpsMgr 2007 bez SP1.

Také pokud management pack importujeme do prostředí OpsMgr 2007 SP1, nemusíme importovat management pack "Microsoft.Windows.Cluster.Library Management Pack".
